AAHRPP offers workshops to help organizations prepare for accreditation
In response to interest from organizations planning to seek
accreditation, AAHRPP is offering a series of workshops to guide staff members in preparing for accreditation.
The self-assessment is the first step in the AAHRPP accreditation
process and is a major focus of the workshops. Organizations conduct in-depth, internal assessments of their human research protection programs, using AAHRPP's Accreditation Standards and Evaluation Instrument for Site Visitors as guides. The self-assessment-which spans five domains of responsibility-is submitted to AAHRPP in the form of a program description.
The new AAHRPP workshops are designed to help organizational staff navigate the accreditation process, and to help answer these questions:
* What departments and staff should be involved in the self-assessment process?
* What resources are needed to conduct the self-assessment?
* How long does the self-assessment take to complete?
* What can we expect once the self-assessment is submitted to
AAHRPP?
* What happens during a site visit?
* What are the common problems that organizations are
encountering?
