the impact of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion and the rural/urban divide in the southeastern United States
June 12-13, 2008.
Treatment and prevention of HIV involves interactions among biological, behavioral and cultural variables. Researchers must respond to these complex interactions amid scientific, regulatory, and political constraints. This conference will address complex cultural features that influence HIV and substance abuse research, prevention, treatment and policy. Leading researchers in both biologic and behavioral prevention of HIV and substance abuse from across the country will present current data and strategies, with opportunities for discussion among colleagues and communities.
