Senior Protocol Analyst — Vice President for Research

Posting Summary: Serves as regulatory compliance analyst, educator and manager who exercises operational responsibility on a daily basis for the Institutional Review Board(s) to which they are assigned charged with protecting the rights and welfare of human research participants. Responsible, either directly or through managing others, for ensuring that IRB protocols satisfy federal regulations, guidelines and institutional requirements.

Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
• Three years of relevant work experience in human subjects research, review of research applications, or research regulatory affairs.
• Certified Institutional Review Board (IRB) Professional [CIP] status or commitment to achieve this certification within one year.
• Knowledge of federal regulations for the protection of human subjects in research.
• Capable of interpreting, applying and communicating federal and institutional guidelines, regulations, statutes, and policies.
• Ability to work collaboratively and to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies including faculty, administrators, institutional compliance staff, federal agency professionals and regulators, and institutional support staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and activities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must possess leadership and management skills as well as ability to know when to utilize them.

Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in biomedical, social or behavioral science.
• Experience working with investigators in a complex research environment.
• Basic office computer and software skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and scientific terminology.

Additional Information:
• A check of criminal conviction records will be conducted for employment in this position.
• FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime).
• Retirement Eligibility: Fidelity Contribution waiting period.
