Western Institutional Review Board (WIRB) seeks a fulltime IRB Coordinator in our Olympia, Washington office.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in a field appropriate to the work assigned; or four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in clinical research or an IRB strongly preferred.
Prioritizes assigned workload to meet turnaround time requirements.
Uses independent judgment in interpreting and applying relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policies and guidelines. Assists members and researchers on the regulations and ethical principals essential to the review process
Knowledge of federal regulations involving use of human subjects in research.
Must interpret regulations, apply regulations written protocols, and convey information verbally and in writing to employees and clients.
Reviews received documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Accurately and completely enters information in database.
Resolves questions and problems in cooperation with clients and other departments.
Communicates with clients to obtain information or clarify requests.
Provides input for modifying, updating, or developing procedures.
Contributes to a positive, customer-oriented team environment.
Attend and successfully complete the WIRB Advanced Regulatory Training (ART) class every three years, completion is required within 12 months of hire.
CIP certification required within two years of hire and reaching the minimum qualifications, (i.e., a Bachelor’s degree plus two years of relevant IRB experience within the past seven years; or three years experience within the past seven years).
