Job Description:
The Army Human Research Protections Office (AHRPO) seeks an Education Specialist to assist with quality enhancement of Army Human Research Protection Programs (HRPPs) through the development of guidance documents and educational programs on regulations and standards governing Army Human Research Protection Programs (HRPPs).
Job Duties:
- Identify, develop, coordinate and deliver innovative education and training programs designed to foster human subject protection regulatory compliance. Prepare appropriate, cost-effective training support material to reach a diverse learning community with a wide geographic distribution.
-Responsible for ensuring the continuing education for all AHRPO staff and constituents with ongoing analysis and interpretation of complex regulatory standards and requirements germane to all human research efforts and standards for the responsible conduct of research.
-Perform full range of subject matter analyses for a wide variety of requests, including very complex, regulatory based assessments. Research, design, develop and distribute related educational material to raise awareness system-wide of expectations, standards, and best practices.
-Performs and/or participates as an education professional in site assistance visits.
-Performs educational needs assessment and interprets results to determine validity and significance. Write reports presenting results, interpretations, recommendations, and potential impact. Identifies need for new system methods or approaches, and training needs.
-Prepares guidance documents on behalf of AHRPO for implementing regulations and standards.
-Participates as required in site assistance visits for quality improvement purposes, or "for cause" investigations to review allegations of serious or continuing non-compliance. Performs these services either independently or with the assigned site visit leader, evaluates and assesses findings objectively, and integrates all activities and results into a comprehensive written report.
-Provides leadership in the advancement of AHRPO education and training resources, programs, curricula, and initiatives.
-Assists AHRPO senior leadership with the design, development, management and delivery of new educational resources for emerging needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years experience in adult education and training
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience in developing and delivering adult distance learning
materials
- Evidence of successful and timely development and delivery of training programs
- Travel required
-Must be able to work independently in Microsoft Vista
-Must be able to produce documents in compliance with DoD and Army regulations governing style and formatting
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in human subject research protection
- Experience in regulatory compliance
- Previous DoD experience

-Advance degree preferred
-Extensive human research subject protection and IRB experience preferred
