Position: IRB Technical Editor Location: Arlington, VA

Job Description: The Army Human Research Protections Office (AHRPO) seeks an IRB Technical Editor to assist with reports, policies, procedures, standards, guidance documents, training materials, and other documents before they are distributed.

Job Duties:
- Edit, format and provide final review of high-level headquarter generated documents before they are released.

- Ensure compliance with all DoD and Army formatting, staffing, and presentation requirements.

-Prepare technical reports for the Office of the Surgeon General; director, defense research and engineering; and others as required.

- Prepare charts, graphs, and other visual aids for AHRPO reports, presentations and training materials.

- Research, draft, staff, and finalize standardized forms, checklists, and templates for AHRPO.

- Research, draft, staff, and finalize policies and procedures for AHRPO.

- Coordinate with others to produce final documents for release by AHRPO.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
-Expert editing abilities
-Minimum of 2 years experience in technical editing
-Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), with proven technical writing abilities, writing sample required
-Excellent project and time-management skills
-Internet research and problem solving skills
-Must be able to work independently in Microsoft Vista
-Must be able to produce documents in compliance with DoD and Army regulations governing style and formatting

Highly Desirable:
- Previous DoD experience in document creation and adherence to DoD standards for written communications
-Proposal and scientific writing background

* Must be able to operate general office equipment including but not limited to: computer, phones and related media and information devices on most or all workdays

* Must be able to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures.
* Physical requirements can typically be characterized as sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
