PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY IN MEDICINE AND RESEARCH (PRIM&R) SEEKS EDUCATION DIRECTOR

PRIM&R is seeking an Education Director to direct and oversee the implementation of PRIM&R’s educational programming, including annual conferences, short-courses, webinars, and online learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to understand and synthesize complex concepts and regulations, and to develop high level and high quality educational programs for research professionals.

Additionally, the candidate will: Represent PRIM&R at national meetings on issues related to the organization’s mission; Develop and implement an assessment process for PRIM&R programming that informs budgeting and strategic planning for the organization; Manage programs within budget parameters; Provide staff support to committees of the Board of Directors and volunteer task forces; Manage and motivate staff and volunteers; and Serve on PRIM&R’s management team.

The Education Director is a new position that is intended to significantly contribute to PRIM&R’s continued growth and long-term stability.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have at least 12-15 years of experience in the research oversight field, as well as a BA/BS degree (Master’s or other/additional advanced degree preferred). Experience in managing organizational relationships—particularly in the non-profit arena—is required. Strong leadership, critical thinking and project management skills are required. Superior oral and written communication skills are needed, along with a demonstrated ability to make complex decisions and problem solve. Excellent customer service skills are required, as is experience managing volunteers. We’re also looking for candidates who possess the following skills and abilities: ability to produce large volumes of consistently high quality work product; ability to pay close attention to detail; high level of creativity and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment; ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituents; advanced interpersonal skills, including an openness to new ideas and willingness to try new approaches; flexibility for dealing effectively with a variety of personalities and situations. A willingness to travel and a terrific team spirit are also must-haves!
