You will support the Institutional Review Board (IRB) functions of the organization as directed by Medical Affairs and the Medical Staff Services Department. This will involve the independent review of all IRB protocols for completeness and accuracy and adherence to established guidelines, maintaining detailed logs and filing system of all protocol activities as required by federal guidelines and regulatory requirements, preparing agenda for the IRB meeting and responsibility for taking and distributing minutes to IRB members. In addition, you will work in collaboration with the IRB Chairperson with responsibility for communicating IRB decisions to appropriate parties; making preliminary decisions, based on federal guidelines, regarding exemptions and eligibility for expedited review; and preparing educational presentations related to the IRBıs scope of activities.

To excel in this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and the ability to make evaluative and independent judgments related to IRB functions within the scope of appropriate level of responsibilities. The capability to establish data collection and management guidelines, develop and deliver effective presentations, and to communicate and interact competently and professionally at all levels within a broad, complex clinical research environment is key. Knowledge of database concepts and formats; and proficiency in the use of computer statistical, technical, and database applications also required. Ability to develop technical reports and manuscripts. Knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to the conduct of clinical trials on human subjects as related to IRB Policies and Procedures and FDA regulations regarding human subject research preferred. Experienced bilingual candidates, who in addition to English, are fluent in speaking, writing, and interpreting Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Mandarin Chinese are strongly encouraged to apply.
