Director of Research Compliance - Texas A&M University
The Vice President for Research at Texas A&M University seeks a Director for the Office of Research Compliance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct all aspects of unit operations including compliance for the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP),and Export Control, including coordination of communication with federal agencies relative to research compliance issues. Oversee the direction and supervision of personnel in the Office of Research Compliance. Direct and support research integrity issues including: 1) Coordination of response and investigation of allegations of scientific misconduct; and 2) Processing cases of research-related conflict interests. Direct the coordination and development of training for research conducted with human and animal subjects, the responsible conduct of research, export control, and other instruction related to scientific integrity and ethics. Acquires and communicates updates on new federal regulations and legislative issues and coordinates and supports their implementation. Provides support for research policy, rule, and guideline development.
Serves on various compliance committees and performs special projects and other duties as assigned. Direct the coordination of inquiries and investigations into allegations of noncompliance with established rules, regulations and guidelines for research compliance and keep the Associate Vice President, Responsible Official and Bio-Safety Officer apprised of all information.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Ten(10) years experience in at least one research compliance area (including experimental or clinical research). Experience in the creation or review of research protocols. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as high ethical standards and a commitment to excellence. Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Terminal degree (PhD, MD, and/or DVM). Regulatory Professional Certification (such as CIP - Certified IRB Professional, CPIA - Certified Professional IACUC Administrator, CRC - Certified Clinical Research Coordinators, RQAP-GLP - Registered Quality Assurance Professional in GLP)
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
