The George Mason University, Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development invites applications for a Research Subject Protections Coordinator to assist in administering functions related to human subject protections.
Under the direction of the Director of Research Subject Protections, the incumbent provides high-level administrative services for the three campus locations. Duties include planning, scheduling and attending board meetings; distributing agenda and meeting packets; preparing meeting minutes; maintaining records and databases ensuring that record-keeping systems are accurate and up-to-date; preparing correspondence and departmental reports as required; and providing support services to the Director and the chairs of the review boards.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience in human subject protection; CIP desirable.
Successful applicants MUST have working knowledge of federal regulations governing the use of human subjects in research.
Superior organizational skills and demonstrated attention to accuracy and detail are required. Must possess a demonstrated ability to work independently and competently, as well as effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities within given deadlines. Strong interpersonal, analytical and oral/written communication skills are required. Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite products to include MS Word, Excel and Access. U.S. citizenship (or permanent resident without sponsorship) required.
