The Institutional Review Board at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is conducting a search for a Human Subjects Coordinator. This position is a full-time, twelve-month academic professional appointment.
The Human Subjects Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and will be responsible for ensuring compliance in human subjects research.
The Coordinator will screen IRB applications and recommend level of review; provide training and education to UIUC researchers; perform audits of IRB approved protocols; maintain detailed and accurate paper and electronic records; and understand and apply current local and federal regulations related to human subjects research. The coordinator will also work with the Director in developing and implementing campus policies and procedures. Additional related duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree; 2 - 4 years experience with human subject research administration; health science or life science background and/or related experience preferred; demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations related to human subjects research; outstanding oral and writing skills; ability to communicate effectively with university faculty; ability to handle confidential material with discretion; excellent organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure; demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint in an office setting.
Anticipated Starting Date: As soon as possible after closing date
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
