IRB Compliance Specialist, Senior
This position will assist in the running of the IRB office, including the handling of investigator's questions, providing documentation and follow-up, particularly after the IRB has met and developed feedback to GSU researchers about their proposed protocols. The volume and complexity of problems encountered by this individual are substantial. In this position, this individual will assist in managing the web site for the IRB and develop database files for the IRB. Position will maintain daily administrative operations for the efficient and timely processing of all human subject research protocols; will send correspondence to investigators regarding IRB actions taken on protocols; will follow up with investigators to ensure timely response to IRB requests for revisions to protocols; assists in updating a variety of manuals and forms required by federal agencies, coordinates IRB meeting activities, create and maintain office files, maintain the human subjects' database, assists in the implementation of mechanisms to ensure that the University's policy on human subject research is consistent with federal regulations.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, public health or related field and three years experience in human subjects protection; or a combination of education and experience.
Salary: $34,470 - $52,817
Preferred Qualifications:
- CITI Training preferred.
- Experience working in an academic setting preferred.
- Certification as IRB Manager or IRB Professional preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, word processing skills, proficiency with a computer; highly organized and efficient work ethic.
- Able to work with large amounts of information and screen incoming materials.
- Ability to apply rules and regulations promulgated by federal, state and local agencies.
