 Functional Analyst -- Falls Church, VA (2 positions)

Planned Systems International, a Government Contractor, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced Functional Analyst to support one of our Government customers in Falls Church, VA.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Provide support in all matters related to the Air Force (AF) Human Research Protection (HRP) Program to include:

Perform detailed headquarters review of human research protocols for format, content, and compliance on behalf of the AF SG’s Human and Animal Research Panel (SGHARP), under the direction of the HRP Program Manager.

Analyze written research proposals and present both written and oral recommendations.

Update and prepare AF, multi-service, and joint policy guidance and other official publications.

Assist in the development of internal operating procedures for the AF HRP.

Establish and maintain contact with local HRP programs for the purpose of exchanging information and reporting progress or problems.

Consult with senior AF HRP staff regarding resolution of HRP issues.

Provide day-to-day operational support to include, responding to urgent and short-notice taskers and attending meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science Degree in health-related discipline (or equivalent discipline).
2-4 years of directly relevant experience supporting Institutional Review Board (IRB) activities.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (written & presentation), and mediation skills a must.
Proven ability to take initiative and follow-through also required.
In addition, U.S. Citizenship is required. In addition, selected applicants will be subject to a government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and obtain a Government-granted Security clearance prior to beginning work on this project.

Desired Skills:

Understanding of Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) doctrine and policy, processes, organizational structure, and Air Staff relationships.

Experience developing and conducting Human Research Protection (HRP) training programs for Air Force.

Experienced at conducting site assistance visits for AF HRP programs.

Knowledgeable of AFMS’ Clinical Investigation Facilities.
Familiar with the Biomedical Integrated Research Database System (BIRDS).
