Brief Description:
Provides consultation to faculty, staff, students, and affiliate investigators and research staff on applications and implementation of federal regulations, state laws, and institutional policies regarding human research activities. Provides Principal Investigators with written and oral determinations and deliberations based on IRB decisions. Prepares IRB correspondence, minutes and agendas. Creates federally mandated institutional records including meeting minutes, physical files, which reflect discussions and deliberations of IRB. Review IRB application submissions for completeness and identify ethical issues that must be addressed by the IRB.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in research or research administration involving ethics, and research methods; or five years of progressive work experience in human research or research administration may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Must be detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work well independently and as a team. Experience with Microsoft Office applications a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree with direct Institutional Review Board (IRB) administration and/or federally mandated record management. Three years experience and knowledge of USF IRB policies, procedures and processes. Computerized data management software as well as USF Business Enterprise applications (GEMS, OASIS and InfoEd) experience highly desired. Experience in a large university setting is preferred.
Hiring Salary/Range: $42,000 to $49,000
