Opening for a full-time IRB Assistant Manager to work in the Office of Research Subjects’ Protections at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Job requirements include: Bachelor’s degree and 3 – 5 years experience with IRBs required. Experience in QA or compliance review of IRB records, experience in conducting clinical research and CIP certified preferred.
Job responsibilities include: Quality review of employee work products; assist in the quality assurance of the department, identify deficiencies, and recommend solutions and procedural changes; provide oversight and monitoring of the ORSP services; direct Board support functions and document flow; schedule staff meetings, assist in preparation and distribution of agenda and documents, record and maintain minutes of staff meetings; management of SOP document, forms, templates; signatory on Serious Adverse Events (SAE); resolve reviewer questions on SAE issues; review packet quality before sending to Board; manage alternative IRB studies; manage the New Member Manual; EVMS IRB fees billing; attend all Sub-Committee and full Board meetings; member of IRB Executive Committee; backup for all IRB administrators; assist in the identification of revised and new government regulations regarding conduct of human subject research and for promulgating this information to the IRB Office, IRBs, investigators, the research community and other officials; follow up on outstanding IRB issues with investigators that are not resolved by administrators; provide oversight for coordination of IRB meetings; maintain and update the EVMS IRB website; participate in the production of a quarterly newsletter; oversees operations of department in absence of the IRB Manager.
