Opening for a full-time IRB Administrator to work in the Office of Research Subjects’ Protections at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Job requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required. Background in science or ethics and experience in regulatory affairs and/or research administration preferred.
Job responsibilities include: Familiarity with the federal regulations in order to make sure that activities comply with guidelines and the law; works in close collaboration with the IRB Manager to assure that all records and documentation related to IRB activity are complete, accurate and appropriate; assist the IRB Manager in receiving incoming protocols for the monthly meeting; provides guidance to investigators and their research coordinators during the submission and approval process of the IRBs; communicates with investigators and their research coordinators regarding questions, issues and modifications of human subjects studies; create highly detailed minutes, and compose clear, concise and detailed correspondence to the investigators to ensure that all the concerns and technical questions of the Board are quickly and intelligibly communicated to each researcher; assist the IRB Manager in maintaining compliance with Federal mandates and maintaining updated EVMS IRB Standard Operating Procedure.
