Dartmouth College's Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects is inviting applications for a Human Research Analyst position.
Position Purpose:
To review and evaluate confidential information about research projects involving human subjects, plus assist in preparing all project documents to satisfy expectations for quality, accuracy, completeness, federal regulatory requirements, and internal standards prior to review by the Committee on Protection of Human Subjects (CPHS).
Key Accountabilities:
• Interprets and applies federal regulations and CPHS standards to information received from investigators, including technical content.
• Monitors the progress of research projects through reviews of revision and renewal forms, adverse event and non-compliance reports
• Works directly with investigators to improve the quality of application materials for review.
• Contributes to the development and revision of educational materials and presentations on human research
Position Requirements
Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good technical writing skills, including the production of meeting minutes.
• Ease in reading and comprehending scientific information.
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility about how designated goals are accomplished.
• Familiarity with a variety of computer applications typically used in offices.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Commitment to serving the needs of diverse populations of investigators and research participants.
• Knowledge of applicable federal regulations and the ethical principles preferred.
Experience:
• Two to three years of experience in a biomedical or other scientific setting.
• Demonstrated interest in ethics preferred.
• Regulatory experience preferred.
• Experience making technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent, preferably with a concentration in a science.
• Certified institutional review board professional (CIP) preferred.
