 Assistant Director, IRB Operations -- Philadelphia, PA

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is looking for an exceptional professional for the position of Assistant Director, IRB Operations. Reporting to the Director, Office of Research Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, the position is responsible for IRB staff management, oversight of IRB office processes for submission and review of protocols, and coordination with other areas of research administration.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree or equivalent health-related professional degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the management of an Institutional Review Board/Ethics Committee function in the biomedical or public health research field. Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment are required. Additional related professional experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. Previous responsibility for clinical research hospital with extensive interface with administrators, faculty, regulatory agencies and sponsors. Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the ethical conduct of clinical research and the protection of human subjects. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with clinical research faculty, students and administration to assure appropriate levels of education and understanding of the requirements for ethical research with human subjects.
